Is PEX safe for hot water use?
Yes, IFAN PEX is safe for hot water distribution as it is certified to the following standards.
ASTM F877 Standard specification for cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) hot and cold water distribution systems. This specification provides requirements and test methods specifically for PEX used in residential and commercial, hot and cold water, potable water distribution systems, and sealed central heating systems, including underfloor heating systems.

ASTM F876 Standard specification for cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) pipe. This specification includes requirements and test methods for materials, processes, oxidative stability in chlorinated drinking water, UV resistance, etc. for PEX used in (but not limited to) residential and commercial, hot and cold drinking water distribution systems, recycled water, etc. Municipal water lines and building water lines. IFAN PEX pipe meets the "overtemperature and overpressure capability" requirements of 210 F and 150 psi for 720 hours (30 days) per ASTM F876 to accommodate short-term water heating system failures.
CSA B137.5 cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) piping systems for pressure applications. These are the Canadian performance and testing specifications for PEX used in drinking water distribution systems or other applications. It is similar to ASTM F876.
IFAN PEX is also chlorine resistant and certified to meet the oxidation resistance requirements of ASTM F2023 for continuous hot water recirculation.
Its PEX material designation code is 5306. The 5 represents the highest chlorine resistance level according to ASTM F876. This means we have 100% chlorine resistance when continuously circulating hot water at 140 F.
Is PEX UV resistant?
Yes.
What is the lifespan of PEX?
PEX pipe has an estimated life expectancy of long-term durability according to standards per PPI TR-3 when operated within its pressure and temperature ratings.
PEX pipes are more resistant to bursting in freezing conditions than metal pipes. Because PEX pipe is flexible, it expands rather than breaks, minimizing costly repairs.
Can PEX be bent?
Yes, you can bend PEX. Its flexibility is one of the main advantages of PEX pipe over rigid pipe. PEX can often go around corners without the use of elbows or other additional accessories. This reduces the number of connection points, lowers material costs and minimizes potential leaks.
