1. PE100 or PE80

PE100 refers to the grade, PE100 grade, PE100 (100 ~ 1.0Mpa) is the minimum required strength (MRS) of polyethylene raw materials after rounding the number of grades, according to GB/T18252 to determine the material and 20 ℃, long-term durability according to standards, forecast According to the hydrostatic strength σLPL corresponding to the probability of 97.5%, the MRS is converted, and the MRS is multiplied by 10 to obtain the classification number of the material. Generally, there are PE100, PE80 and so on.

2. DN and DE

What is the difference between DN and DE of PE pipe marks? On some of our design drawings, we can see that PE pipes are sometimes marked with DE and sometimes marked with DN. What does that mean?

In the earliest days, DN refers to the nominal diameter. For example, in the application of steel pipes, it refers to the inner diameter. When DN was used in the earliest PE pipe design, we also defaulted to the inner diameter. For example, the PE pipe of DN100 basically refers to the inner diameter. PE pipe with outer diameter of 110.

However, after the latest release of GB/T13663-2000 by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, DE and DN have been unified to refer to the outer diameter of the PE pipe, which means that both DN200 and DE200 refer to the outer diameter of the PE pipe.

3. Mpa

Mpa refers to the pressure level, and PE pipes are generally divided into five levels, namely 0.6Mpa, 0.8Mpa, 1.0Mpa, 1.25Mpa, and 1.6Mpa. For example, 0.6Mpa means that the PE pipe can withstand a pressure of 6 kg; 1.6Mpa means that the PE pipe can withstand a pressure of 16 kg.

4. SDR

SDR refers to the diameter to wall ratio of the pipe, that is, the outer diameter divided by the wall thickness equals 11, the term name is the standard size ratio. For example, SDR11, which means the ratio of outer diameter to wall thickness SDR on PE pipes.
