PE hot melt connection can form a leak proof connection, even if not stronger than the pipeline, it is as sturdy as the pipeline. For municipal applications, when using other pipeline materials such as PVC or ductile iron, fusion joints can reduce the potential leakage points every 10 to 20 feet.
Longevity
Due to the physical quality, leak free joints, and low maintenance requirements of the pipeline, PE pipeline installation is economical and can provide long-term cost-effectiveness. The PE pipeline industry estimates that if the system is properly designed, constructed, and operated in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer recommendations, the service life of PE pipelines will be between 50 and 100 years.

PE can withstand multiple common chemicals.
Low temperature is not a problem for polyethylene because it is not fragile. Therefore, low-temperature heat transfer applications such as radiant floor heating, snowmelt, ice rinks, and geothermal ground source heat pump pipelines are crucial for specific PE pipeline formulations.
