If the water tap is disabled or not working, it looks terrible. Sometimes it's too late to fix it due to the trouble of calling the plumber. But did you know that you can fix it yourself in 5 minutes? Today in this article, we will show you how to replace the brass faucet within 5 minutes. So, let's get started.

When Should You Replace Your Brass Tap?
One of the common problems with faucets is dripping water. If the faucet still drips when turned off, it should be replaced with a new faucet. Moreover, sometimes if there are problems with internal mechanisms, such as not turning off the engine or spitting, replace it. Furthermore, if it requires consistent repair, then changing is a wiser decision than fixing.
Tools You Need
Make sure you have these things when you’re going to replace a brass tap.
1.The Brass Tap
2.A Wrench
3.Teflon tape
4.A Bristle Brush
How To Replace The Brass Tap
Follow these steps to replace your old tap with a new one. But make sure to maintain the series of steps.
Step 1: Turn off the water supply
This is the first and mandatory step of this work. If the water circulation is turned on, the faucet cannot be replaced. In addition, you will get wet and the space will be flooded within a few minutes.
So, go to your main water supply point. Then find out which pipeline is supplying water to that faucet. If it is controlled by a switch, turn off the switch. If it is a valve, turn the valve handle clockwise to turn off the water supply.
Step 2: Remove the old faucet
Before disassembly, open the old faucet and drain any remaining water from the pipeline. However, if the water supply pipeline is properly closed, the water flow will stop within a few seconds.
After the drainage is completed, pick up the wrench. Afterwards, use a wrench to hold the faucet from the bottom. Hold it so that the twist is facing upwards towards the faucet handle. Now rotate it counterclockwise to undo the thread. Continue doing this until the faucet comes out.
Step 3: Clean the pipeline opening
When the faucet is turned on, you will see some dirt and tape on the surface of the pipeline. In addition, clean the area as much as possible with a brush.
Step 4: Stick the wire with tape
This is a very important part. You must now bend some Teflon tape into the threads of the brass faucet. Firstly, measure the pipe hole and thread... Then apply tape to the thread until the total thickness of the thread and tape becomes slightly thicker than the hole in the pipe. Do it appropriately; Otherwise, there will be water leakage. Additionally, due to low tightening and high water pressure, the faucet is more likely to fall off.
Step 5: Install the faucet
Most importantly, it's time to insert the faucet into the pipeline. Firstly, insert the thread of the faucet into the water supply pipe opening. Afterwards, forcefully push and rotate clockwise. Try to tighten it with your hands as much as possible. Then use a wrench to tighten it, as it is a brass faucet that can withstand greater pressure. Finally, ensure that the nozzle of the faucet is facing downwards.
Step 6: Test time
Now is the time to check if it is working properly. Go to the main water supply point again and turn on the water supply. Afterwards, turn on the faucet that was just replaced. If the effect is good when water flows out of the faucet, then the effect is good. Please do not close it immediately. This is because the pipeline must have some dirt and loose Teflon tape. So, let the water flow for a while and wash these things clean.
