Building structure and process requirements

 

  • Building structure analysis: Understand the overall structure of the building, including the position and characteristics of load-bearing walls, floors, roofs, etc., to determine the installation location and direction of PEX tubes.
  • Process requirements: According to the use and function of the building, determine the specific needs of the PEX pipe system, such as water supply, water supply pressure, water temperature, etc.

 

Piping layout and installation

 

  • Concealed setting: Ideally, PEX tubes should be concealed, such as in a ceiling, pipe hole, or pipe well, to keep the environment clean. For pipes under the floor, it is recommended to use hard PVC bellows to provide additional protection.
  • Crossing site treatment: When PEX tubes cross floors, roofs or walls, they must be stable and waterproof. Fixed support points should be set at the crossing parts, and corresponding anti-deformation measures should be taken when crossing the settlement joints and expansion joints of the building.
  • Water separator setting: In residential buildings, when the diameter of hot and cold water pipes is less than De25, it is recommended to use a centralized water separator to connect to each water point with the shortest path. The water distributor should be installed in the water distributor box, the box height of the cold water pipe is 0.3 meters, the hot water pipe is 0.45 meters, and the corrosion resistant material is selected, and the inlet and outlet of the water pipe need to install copper valves.

 

Material selection and properties

Insulation and anticorrosion

 

  • Insulation requirements: For outdoor open water supply pipes, it is necessary to follow the national antifreeze and insulation regulations for insulation treatment. Hot water pipes in the ceiling pipe well and open pipe section also need to be insulated to maintain a suitable temperature.
  • Anti-corrosion measures: For pipelines that may come into contact with water sources, such as through pools and water tanks, the inlet and outlet pipe sections should be made of corrosion-resistant metal materials to resist corrosion. The surface of the underground metal pipeline should be coated with anti-rust paint or anti-corrosion paint such as tar and asphalt, or covered with glass cloth and linen impregnated with asphalt.

 

Safety and specification

 

  • Safe distance: The distance between the pipeline and the heat source should be kept at least 1 meter, and the indoor pipeline near the household stove should be kept at least 0.4 meters away.
  • Compliance with specifications: Design and construction drawings and other technical documents should be available and have been reviewed. At the same time, the construction organization design should be determined, and the technical disclosure has been made to understand the laying method.

  • Cost consideration: In the design stage, the construction cost, operating cost and maintenance cost of the PEX pipe system should be considered comprehensively, and an economical and reasonable design scheme should be selected.
